Important: Skrotify does not scrap whole vehicles and does not register the scrapping of complete cars in the Swedish Transport Agency's Road Traffic Register.
What is meant by vehicle scrap?
Vehicle scrap refers to metal and components derived from vehicles, but which are already disassembled and separated from the vehicle. For example, it can be:
- Steel or aluminium body parts
- Rims, chassis components and beams
- Engine and gearbox parts (without fluids)
- Batteries, catalytic converters and other metal components
- Production spills and end-of-life vehicle parts
These materials often have a high recycling value when properly sorted and handled.
Skrotify doesn't scrap entire vehicles
Scrotify works not as an authorized auto junkyard and does not handle complete vehicles.
This means that:
- We do not accept whole cars or vehicles
- We do not issue any scrappage certificates
- We do not register vehicles that have been scrapped with the Swedish Transport Agency
For the scrapping of whole vehicles, you should always contact an authorised car scrapper.
Scrotify focuses instead on recovery of metal from already dismantled vehicle scrap.
How to sell automotive scrap to Skrotify
Step 1: Digitally register your vehicle scrap
Through Skrotify's customer portal, you register which materials and scrap classes you want to sell. With over 100 scrap classes, accurate valuation is ensured right from the start.
Step 2: See the current scrap price
Skrotify works with daily updated scrap prices, based on market data and raw material prices.
You always see what your vehicle scrap is worth before shipping.
Step 3: Drop off or pick up
After registration, the material can be submitted or picked up by agreement. All handling is carried out in accordance with the current rules for scrap trade and material recycling.
Step 4: Sorting and Recycling
The vehicle scrap is sorted by metal type and grade. The metals go on to smelters where they are recycled into new raw materials used in new production.
Documentation and traceability
All recycling through Skrotify is traceable and documented. In the customer portal you will have access to:
- History per shipment
- Weight Regained Over Time
- Basis for accounting and environmental reporting
