We focus on sustainability from the innermost core to the outermost layer. Not just by comparing alloys. We also make sure to value the items that carry heritage and history to see what can actually be reused instead of decomposed. It is part of our circular work.

Our Path to a Sustainable Future

Skrotify's vision is to be “Sweden's leading hub for circular metal recycling — where digital innovation drives sustainable change throughout the recycling chain”. Our work on sustainability is based on four core principles:

Circular economy: We transform scrap metal into a valuable secondary raw material. By keeping materials in circulation for as long as possible, we minimise waste and maximise resource use, which is a mainstay of the circular economy.

Reduced CO2 emissions: Metal recycling requires significantly less energy than extracting new metal. For example, each ton of recycled steel reduces CO₂ emissions by about 1.5 tons. Recycling aluminium requires up to 95% less energy compared to primary production. This means that our work directly contributes to reducing climate impact.

Environmental data and traceability: Through our digital platform, the Skrotify Portal, customers can not only view real-time prices and book pickups, but also manage environmental data and track their waste with full traceability. We use CO₂ standard sources to calculate CO₂ savings per kilogram of scrap. This digital transparency is a cornerstone of our business model.
