Overall market picture

Despite a globally uncertain commodity market, all base prices remain at the same level as on May 1. This means that no major macro swings have affected the price picture — but there are still important details to note within certain scrap categories.

Clear price increases — Aluminium in focus

Three categories of aluminium have shown a clear rise:

Aluminum Sheet: +7.69% → New Range: 11.50 — 14.00 SEK/kg
Aluminium profiles — Lacquered: +7.69% → New Range: 11.50 — 14.00 SEK/kg

▶ Interpretation: This reflects an increased demand pressure on secondary aluminium, particularly in the construction and automotive sectors where they are widely used. For recyclers, that means a tangible profit opportunity this week.

Copper trend continues — strong demand continues

Several copper-related fractions continue their positive trend:

Cu granules Class 3: +1.67%
CU Electrolyte: +1.37%
Coarse-grained copper (min 94%): +1.43%
Redware (≥ 75% CU): +1.89%
Mixed-cable 38% CU: +3.7%

▶ Interpretation: Copper is used intensively in electronics and energy distribution — with today's green transition, demand continues to grow. That makes copper scrap a continuing lucrative fraction.

Pacific market -- but sinking in tin

The only negative movement comes from:

Tin — Clean: -0.65% → New range: 150.50 — 153.00 SEK/kg

▶ Interpretation: However, this is marginal and primarily reflects currency adjustments rather than demand falls.

Tips for Recyclers

With today's stable market but rising aluminum and copper prices, it is optimal position to sell these particular fractions. Particularly profitable is the sorting of lacquered profiles and high-percentage copper cable, which provide a good margin in our replacement model.
